Biomaterial Sciences and Engineering play an important role in the
modern healthcare technology. There is a huge potential and growing
demand in India as well as across the globe for the development of
biomaterials and medical devices. India, being one of the major users
of medical devices and implants, depends on imports for over 80% of
its needs. The nation is striving to expand its capabilities and human
resources in medical devices and implants and to become self sufficient in these areas. The workshop will provide an opportunity to
interact and discuss with experts from University, Research
Organisation, Health care Professional on the latest trends and
development in Biomaterials.
The department has got sanctioned a Bilateral Indo-Poland
Collaborative joint research project on "Development of a smart
scaffold for assisting efficient bone repair" financed by the Polish
National Agency for Academic Exchange and by Ministry of Science
and Technology, Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India.
Prof.Elzbieta Pamula and her team from Department of
Biomaterials and Composites, AGH University of Science and
Technology, Krakow, Poland and from Indian Research
Organizations, Universities and Industries will deliver the technical
talk.
